Walking

There are miles of scenic paths, tracks, and trails from Capercaillie Lodge including the 84 mile Speyside Way. The Glenlivet Estate has extensive signposted walking routes that are suitable for all ages.

Malt Whisky Trail

Capercaille Lodge is perfectly situated on the Malt Whisky Trail, with the distilleries of The Glenlivet, Cardhu and Benromach worth visiting.

Golfing

Ballindalloch Castle Golf Course is set on the banks of the river Avon and is only 1 mile away, there are also courses nearby at Rothes, Grantown on Spey, and Nethy Bridge.

Fishing

There is Trout and Salmon fishing available locally on the rivers Spey, Avon and Livet. Permits for beats on the river Spey are available here, and from Ballindalloch Castle. Permits for beats on the rivers Avon and Livet are available from the Post Offices in Ballindalloch, Tomintoul and Tomnavoulin.

Surfing

The Moray coast is only a 30 minute drive away and there are many beach breaks worth exploring such as Lossiemouth, and Banff.
